From the League of Women Voters South County Election Guide
What differentiates you as a candidate and if elected, what will be your top priority during your term?
As an attorney I have a unique perspective that enables me to analyze proposed changes to our ordinances and proposals that come before the Town Council. I also have extensive work/life experiences. I am a small business owner, unlike almost all of the other candidates. I have also held volunteer leadership positions for the Ocean Community YMCA (OCY). I served on the OCY Board for 9 years and was Chief Volunteer Officer of OCY from 2022-2024. I have also served on the Arcadia Y Branch Board for more than 15 years. I have volunteered extensively within our community supporting our youth through Chariho Little League, Chariho Youth Soccer Association, and Scout Troop 1 Richmond.
My top priorities if elected will be continuing efforts to facilitate redevelopment of Chariho Plaza and collaborate with the developer of Richmond Commons. I will work to have open lines of communication with local businesses to understand their needs and how the town can assist them. I will focus on developing responsible budgets that limit spending increases while improving the town’s infrastructure through road repaving and a preventative road maintenance program. Finally I will work to expand recreational opportunities for residents. This includes continuing development at 4 Richmond Townhouse and developing indoor and outdoor facilities on the forty acre recreational area the developer of Richmond Commons has designated for town.
