School Committee’s First Budget Workshop

Agenda includes Preliminary Plan Public Hearing for the proposal of “Country Estates”, Comprehensive Permit Preliminary Plan, 299 Switch Road, Richmond, RI 02832, Assessor’s Plat 8A, Lot 11.

The applicant proposes a Comprehensive Permit to create eight new lots in a conservation design, utilizing existing road frontage along Switch Road and Sandy Pond Road. Eight new homes will be proposed, two of which will be affordable, in accordance with R.I.G.L. § 45-53-3 et. seq.

Chariho is developing a proposal for a single unified elementary school. As the architects begin to develop the proposal in more detail, this is the opportunity to provide ideas and feedback on potential options for the new school.

“Trees for Trout,” is an effort by RIDEM to recycle donated christmas trees to restore habitat for wild brook trout and other aquatic life.

Tree guidelines:

Real trees only, no artificial or fire-retardant trees

Remove all decorations, tinsel, lights, and stands

Only whole conifers (no trimmings)

Trees over 5’ preferred
