Quick Takes - January 6, 2026 Town Council Meeting

  • Approved changes to Transfer Station days/hours - effective Feb 1st open Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday. Once daylight savings time begins in March the Transfer Station will stay open until 6pm on Wednesday.

  • To be in line with neighboring towns, approved changes to fees for certain items:

    • Trailer/Lawn Mower Tires $8.00 with rim

    • Tractor Tires (not lawn mower) $30.00

    • Air Conditioners $20.00

    • Construction/Demolition Debris $165/ton

  • Report from Water System Operator

    • Required 4-log chlorination system has been activated

    • Identified grant opportunities through Federal and State to fund needed upgrades and equipment replacement

  • Appointed Deputy Town Clerk Kendra Tanguay as Acting Town Clerk

  • Hired two part-time Finance Cerks for tax collection and account payable

  • Renewed appointments of Solicitors Christopher Zangari and Michael Cozzolino

  • Appointed residents to Planning Board, RICH Task Force, Chariho Finance Committee, Town Finance Board, and Zoning Board of Review
